Our library serves as a community hub. We connect people to information and connect people to people. Our services include a vast array of materials and resources to support our community.

Interlibrary Loan

InterLibrary Loan (ILL) gives card holders access to materials that are not available within the collections of Allegheny County  libraries.

Bookmobile

The Bookmobile provides a “closer to home” alternative to the main library with two stops around Pine Township. 

  • The bookmobile carries about 2,500 items, including books, videos, DVDs, and CDs.
  • You may check out any of the items on board, or request items from Northern Tier or any Allegheny County library. Requested items are delivered the following week, or whenever they become available.

Access the internet, computers and affordable printing, even if you don’t have a library card.

Programs

Our programs are an important part of our services offering learning opportunities to our patrons. From author visits and hands on workshops with new technology, to educational sessions with local businesses, we want to offer chances for everyone to have fun while learning or trying something new. Book Clubs

Nonfiction Book Discussion Group

This book group will regularly meet on the third Tuesday of the month at 1 PM and will focus on reading nonfiction books concerning a variety of topics.

Bridget’s Book Club
A book club for our fiction lovers. Typically held the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 7 PM – 9 PM.

Take Home Kits

Can’t make it to any of our scheduled Children’s Programs? Request a take home kit and create and enjoy our crafts and activities with your kids when it’s convenient for you.

Museum Passes

Experience Kits

FREE ADMISSION for two adults and up to six children (under 18) to a number of museums and historical sites around Pittsburgh! Check out the link to our kits within the programming menu to see what’s available this season.

RAD Pass

The RAD Pass provides Allegheny County library card holder, ages 18 and up, with access to free or discounted passes to cultural attractions in our region. 

Lobby Pickup

Short on time? Is it hard to get around? You may call and request lobby pickup for your  library items.

Used Book Sales

Build your own personal library through our different sale options. All proceeds benefit Northern Tier Library.

  • Annual Friends Book Sale held in April on the library’s lower level
  • Shopify Store Browse and purchase books online and pick them up at the library when it is convenient for you.
  • Library Lobby Sale You can always find books for sale in our library lobby.

St. Barnabas Delivery

Request books and other materials from public libraries throughout Allegheny county. Requests may be submitted over the phone (724-449-2665 ex. 25) or by using a paper form (found in the library at St. Barnabas)

  • Books will be delivered to and picked up from St. Barnabas every Wednesday.
  • Call or stop by the library to sign up for St. Barnabas for the delivery service.
