Annual Giving Campaign

The library had a big year! Here are some of the milestones we reached in 2023:

– Distributed library cards to every student in PRSD
– Debuted a new website
– Expanded outreach to the Pine Community Center
– Became a fine-free library

Please consider donating to the library to help us continue our efforts to bring you the best materials, services, and programs in 2024. Click below for a smattering of library statistics from last year and for more information on the campaign.

The Underground Railroad in Northern Allegheny

At great personal risk, northern Allegheny County farmers played a large
role in the Underground Railroad, which secretly transported enslaved
people to freedom in safe northern states and Canada.

Acting Richland History Group President Paul R. White will give a
one-hour presentation on Saturday, December 9 at 10:30 AM to detail
the specifics of four local mid-19th century “stations” and their “station
masters.” Three of these known “stations” still stand in our community
today as a testimony to their historic service some 170 years ago.

Registration is required.
