Luna's Magic Flute

Luna’s Magic Flute is a delightful musical fairytale. Throughout this musical story, Luna spreads kindness and joy. Unfortunately, the mean dragon isn’t pleased! Come find out on October 7th what the dragon does to try to squash this joyful music.

The music will be performed by Madison Chen, Celestial Hou, Jackie Li, and Sophia Yu on flute, with the story narrated by Kathy Blocki.

Math For Girls

Math for Girls is a free math competition for late elementary and middle school-aged girls dedicated to empower young women’s education and engagement in STEM. The competition will start at 9:30 AM. Any type of competitive math experience is NOT REQUIRED or EXPECTED! We encourage students of all levels and knowledge to participate.

Build It Saturday

Saturday October 21, 10:00 am

Join us at the library and bring your best building skills to work alongside dad, mom, a grandparent, or a guardian to put together a wooden project. There will be two projects to choose from: a fire rescue boat or a pencil-shaped desk organizer.

Wear comfy clothes and be ready to put some effort into your hammering skills. This program is for ages 6 and up.

Fall Classic Film Series

Northern Tier Library is pleased to announce a Classic Film Series this fall in partnership with the Pittsburgh Classic Movie Club!

This fall, we’ll be showing three Golden Age of Hollywood flicks down on the lower level of the library on select Tuesday nights. These programs are free for all who attend but we do ask that you register to account for refreshments and supplies. Click on the button below for more information on the first two films being shown. The third film will be chosen by a vote from the audience.

The Allegheny Arsenal Handbook - Author Presentation

Pittsburgh’s Allegheny Arsenal served the nation through five wars between 1814 and 1926. It suffered a tragedy on September 17, 1862 that was the greatest single day loss of civilian life during the Civil War. Inside The Allegheny Arsenal Handbook is the history of Pittsburgh’s last federal military facility in stories, illustrations, maps, and photographs.

Authors Tom Powers and Jim Wudarczyk, from the Lawrenceville Historical Society, will share a PowerPoint presentation on Tuesday, October 17 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, followed by a Q&A.
