Over the last few years we have steadily increased the number of learning opportunities that we offer throughout the summer. These go beyond logging books and reading; they are opportunities that allow participants to learn skills and explore different trades. We will still promote reading and encourage families to continue reading at home, but we will also reward learning opportunities such as drawing, writing, STEM-based activities, and nature walks! Similar to last summer, we will not have a prize market at the end of our Learning Program. Rather than buying prizes which are quickly discarded, we will use our resources for more involved programming such as two sessions of cooking classes, more in-depth art projects, and more detailed Makerspace crafts!

Participants will receive coupons and giveaways from neighborhood businesses, as well as tickets to participate in a wide variety of raffle prizes. And those who complete their Summer Learning Program folder will receive a free book at the end of the summer!

The theme this year is: A Universe of Stories. So join us for some great activities, and get ready to launch into the summer!
