Recurring Programs

FAMILY STORYTIME & PLAYTIME

Join us to share songs, rhymes, books, and a lot of movement! This program starts at 10:30 AM and are held on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Depending on the weather and the time of year, storytimes can be held inside on the main level or outside the library. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on, but it’s not strictly necessary for our indoor sessions.

This program is for toddlers, preschoolers, and their families. Registration is required but only one registration is necessary for a series of story times even if you don’t plan to attend them all. A series of playtimes generally run for six consecutive weeks and registration information is primarily used to call in case of a cancellation.

BABY STORYTIME

Come enjoy a half hour of fun with your baby! We’ll share songs, finger plays, stories, and rhymes. Meet other parents and their babies, and enjoy some special time together. This program is intended for babies ages 0-18 months and is held on Tuesdays in the program room on our main level.

Siblings are welcome and only one registration is required for a series of storytimes which usually run for six weeks at a time.

PR Pokémon Club

Join other Pokémon trainers at the library for an hour of Pokémon fun! We encourage you to bring your game cards or handheld games in order to play together, swap, or exchange with others. (Trades must be approved by both parties’ adults to avoid misunderstandings.)

Boards will be available if you want to learn how to play the card game, and we encourage new fans to come and learn. A craft or Pokémon-related project will be offered as well. This event is self-directed and open to children, teens, and their families. Held on the first Monday of the month. Registration is required.

CHESS CLUB

Come to the library to practice your chess skills and play against other kids in the community. We will set up the program room with chess sets and tables for families to meet up and play a few rounds of chess in an informal setting. Bring any interesting exercises, openings, or moves you’d like to share with others.

Chess Club is held once a month.

STORYTIME @ PINE COMMUNITY CENTER
