Love Your Library Month
This September, we will celebrate our sixth annual Love Your Library campaign! All donations made to Northern Tier Library during the month of September will receive a prorated match from the Buncher Foundation. Additionally, we will be hosting a number of special programs in order to raise funds for the library. Love Your Library Book Sale
We will be holding a Used Book Sale during the month of September for the Love Your Library campaign! Please come in and take a look—and remember, all book sale proceeds boost our Love Your Library donation total! Items for sale will be in the main part of the library and the sale will last for the entire month of September.
American Girl Doll Tea Party
Let’s get together for a mommy-and-me American Girl doll tea party! Come dressed in your tea party best and bring your doll on Saturday, September 17 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. No worries if you don’t have a doll, the library has a collection of them to keep you company (and can then be checked out!) Learn how to make cucumber sandwiches and a good cup of tea—the library will provide snacks and other beverages too. There is a $5 fee per person for this program that will be donated to the library. Advance registration is required, and payment must be made upon registration.
Fly Tying Event
A quiet morning, a light mist hovers over the river, a zen-like calmness washes over you as you cast your fly out… YOUR fly, the one you tied at Northern Tier Library. Join Northern Tier Library and Public Lands on Wednesday, September 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM to learn how to tie two classic flies, the green weenie and the foam ant. Learn some basic fly tying techniques that can be applied to your future flying endeavors. Materials and equipment will be provided via a generous sponsorship by Public Lands. No experience necessary. There is a fee of $5 to be donated to the library. All donations during the month of September will receive a prorated match from the Buncher Foundation during Love Your Library month. Registration is required to account for materials and space is limited, so sign up early!
Evening Flow Yoga Class
End your day with a gentle outdoor vinyasa yoga flow class designed to calm the mind and prepare your body for deep rest. These classes, taught by Sheri Ward on Tuesdays, September 13 and 27 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, will allow you to wind down the body and relax your mind for a restful evening. Classes are $9 each and must be paid upon registration. Advance registration is required.
Book Club Bonanza
Your favorite local libraries are teaming up for a fun evening of celebrating our local neighborhood book clubs! All trivia is book based—popular reads, celebrity book clubs, film and more! You don’t even have to read the books to win. Whose neighborhood will hold bragging rights? This book club bonanza will take place on Thursday, September 15 at 6:30 PM at the Hampton Community Center located at 3101 McCully Road in Allison Park, PA. The event is BYOB and snacks! Prize for the best snack, but we’ll provide dessert. The fee is $10 per person, and teams must be limited to eight members or less.
